Universal Blackbox

The city keeps its last minutes.

In development

Universal Blackbox is not on sale yet. Its installation guide, configuration reference and exports will appear here the day it launches. Follow progress on the Discord.

Records every player and every occupied vehicle on the server for the last 25 minutes, all the time. When something happens, staff rewind it and watch it in 3D from any angle, with the players in their own outfits, then freeze the moment as an incident that outlives restarts. Players who leave leave a ghost that says why, and a player who leaves mid-fight is flagged as a combat log. Fully standalone: it needs OneSync and nothing else.

What it does

  • Rewind any moment and watch it in 3D. Every player and occupied vehicle is recorded on the server for the last 25 minutes, or anywhere from 10 to 60. Staff rewind around themselves or along a player and watch from free, follow, or first-person cameras at 0.25x to 8x, scrubbing and jumping between hits, shots, and crashes.
  • Copies that act it out, not drift. Everyone in the scene walks, runs, jumps, takes cover, shoots whoever they hit, gets in and out of cars, and goes down for real, in their own outfits. The replay plays in a private routing bucket with its own keys, and the HUD steps aside while you watch.
  • Players who leave leave a ghost that says why. A see-through ghost stays where the player stood and says how they left: quit, crash, timeout, or kicked. Leave mid-fight and it's flagged as a combat log, the moment is saved automatically, and staff can watch the last two minutes from the ghost itself. Combat logs can post to Discord.
  • Freeze the moment and keep it past restarts. Freeze a window into an incident with a title, a note, and a status. Incidents are saved to disk, so they outlive restarts. Other resources can freeze one, or drop their own pins on the timeline, with a single export.
  • Recorded by the server, and every look is logged. Recording reads the server's own OneSync view, so players' PCs do almost nothing. Bystanders are only recorded while a player is involved with them. Only staff with the ace can open the recording, and every look at it is logged: who, what, and when.
  • Needs OneSync and nothing else. No framework, database, or other Universal product required. It reads Qbox and QBCore laststand and ambulance scripts without editing them, so a downed player stays down in the replay for as long as the script holds them.
